1. Introduction
PMZero ("we," "our," or "us") operates an AI-powered product research service that scans public sources (e.g. Reddit, Hacker News, Google) to help you discover user pain points and feature opportunities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and Service.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: When you sign up, we receive from Clerk your email, name, and profile image. We store a synced copy (user id, name, email, image) in our database to associate projects and scans with your account.
- Product and project data: Information you provide for scans (product name, description, website URL, competitors) is stored and used to run and display scan results.
- Scan data: Scan configurations, status, progress, and results (pain points, feature suggestions, sources) are stored so you can view and use them.
- Billing data:Payment and subscription data are processed by Polar. We receive and store identifiers needed to grant scan credits and manage access (e.g. subscription status, product IDs).
- Usage and technical data: We may collect cookies, log data (e.g. IP, browser, timestamps), and usage metrics to operate, secure, and improve the Service. See the Cookies section below.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to: provide and personalize the Service; run scans and store results; manage accounts and credits; process payments via Polar; communicate with you (e.g. support, product updates); improve our models and product; enforce our terms; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data sources and AI
Scan results are derived from publicly available content (e.g. Reddit, Hacker News, search results). We do not expose raw third-party content in a way that identifies individuals; we summarize and theme data for research purposes. Our AI (e.g. Anthropic) processes your project and scan inputs to generate reports; we use this data only to deliver and improve the Service.
5. Sharing and third parties
We share data only as needed with: (a) Clerk for authentication and account management; (b) Polar for payments and subscriptions; (c) Anthropic and other providers that process data to run scans and improve the Service; (d) infrastructure and analytics providers that help us operate the Service. These parties are bound by contracts or policies that limit use to providing and improving the Service. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for: session and authentication (e.g. Clerk); security and fraud prevention; preferences (e.g. cookie consent); and analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can control non-essential cookies via the cookie banner on our landing page and your browser settings. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function.
7. Retention and security
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and comply with law. Scan results are kept in line with our data retention policy. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data; no system is completely secure.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update account details via your profile (Clerk) and request deletion or export by contacting us. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them. Data may be processed in the United States or other countries; we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards where required by law.
